Vietnam will play against Thailand, the Philippines, and Pakistan at the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026

Vietnam will take part in the first-ever FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 — a new international tournament for the national teams of Southeast Asian countries and invited teams. The competition will take place from 24 September to 5 October in Indonesia and Hong Kong.
Vietnam’s national team will compete in Division 1, in Group B. Their opponents will be the Philippines, Thailand, and Pakistan. Group A will feature Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Bangladesh. In total, 14 national teams divided into two divisions will participate in the inaugural edition of the tournament.
Vietnam will play its first match on 26 September against the Philippines at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung. On 29 September, the team will face Thailand, and on 2 October it will play Pakistan. Vietnam’s final group-stage match will already take place in Jakarta at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.
At the end of the group stage, the group winners will advance to the final. The teams finishing second will play in the third-place match. Both decisive Division 1 matches are scheduled for 5 October at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta. The final will kick off at 20:00 local time, while the third-place match will begin at 16:00.
For Vietnam, the tournament will be a series of three matches against regional rivals. The meetings with the Philippines and Thailand will take place in Bandung, while the match against Pakistan will be held in Jakarta.
FIFA notes that the new tournament was created to provide the region’s national teams with additional competitive matches within the international calendar. The inaugural edition is also expected to strengthen football ties between Southeast Asian countries.
