Vietnam has launched the Pottel tourist SIM card

Vietnam Post’s new product is designed for foreign tourists, business travelers, and short-term visitors, and operates through the VinaPhone network with 4G/5G support.

Vietnam Post has officially launched Pottel — its first telecommunications service introduced to the market under its own brand. The tourist SIM card is aimed primarily at foreign travelers, people coming to Vietnam for work, and those staying in the country for a short time.

Pottel operates under the mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) model. To provide connectivity, Vietnam Post uses VNPT’s infrastructure, while the company itself is responsible for the product, brand, distribution, and customer service. The SIM supports 4G/5G mobile internet on the VinaPhone network. Actual connection speed depends on the device, coverage, and network conditions in a specific location.

For tourists, the SIM is intended primarily for everyday internet access during trips. It can be used for maps, ride-hailing services, messengers, social networks, checking schedules and tickets, and searching for hotels, restaurants, and attractions.

At the initial stage, Pottel is being sold in Hanoi and Phu Quoc. In central Hanoi, starting from August 15, the SIM can be purchased, in particular, at 66 Lương Văn Can and 75 Đinh Tiên Hoàng. Vietnam Post also lists several official dealers in Hanoi and Phu Quoc.

At the same time, Pottel does not replace regular SIM cards from other operators: it is a separate tourist product from Vietnam Post. The company sees the launch of Pottel as the first step in developing its own mobile communications segment and plans to further expand its range of telecommunications services.
