In Vietnam, commercial transport is being inspected nationwide until September 25.
From August 26 to September 25, 2026, traffic police across Vietnam are conducting a large-scale inspection of vehicles used for commercial transport. The campaign is aimed at identifying violations of traffic rules and transport safety requirements.
The inspections primarily cover two types of transport: cargo vehicles, including tractor units with trailers and semi-trailers, as well as passenger buses with a capacity of 8 seats or more, including double-decker and sleeper buses.
Special attention is being paid to national highways, expressways, mountainous and winding road sections with limited visibility, as well as other places where there is an increased risk of traffic accidents.
Police are checking compliance with speed limits, lane discipline, and overtaking rules. The list of violations also includes using a phone while driving, improper stopping and parking, as well as picking up and dropping off passengers or loading and unloading goods in prohibited places.
Commercial activity without proper registration is being monitored separately. The inspections affect vehicles that transport passengers or goods for payment but are not officially registered to carry out such transport.
Inspectors are also checking compliance with drivers’ working time requirements, the condition and use of movement monitoring devices, and equipment for recording the driver’s image. For cargo transport, they are monitoring overloading, exceeding established dimensions, and незаконное изменение конструкции кузова.
On expressways, additional attention is being paid to maintaining a safe distance between vehicles and violations of stopping rules.
The inspections concern not only drivers. If a violation is related to the actions or inaction of a transport company or vehicle owner, traffic police may initiate an inspection and take measures against the relevant organization.
According to Vietnam’s traffic police, the campaign is being conducted in part to prevent traffic accidents and improve the safety of commercial transport during a period when traffic intensity increases due to the national holiday on September 2 and the start of the new school year.
