Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi will temporarily close to visitors

From September 4 to November 2, 2026, scheduled repair and maintenance work will take place at the mausoleum, and visitor access will resume on November 3.

The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi will temporarily stop receiving visitors starting September 4, 2026. During this period, specialists will carry out scheduled technical maintenance and preservation work on the building. Information about the closure period was published by the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command and confirmed by local media.

According to the official announcement, the work will continue through November 2 inclusive, and on November 3 the mausoleum will reopen to residents of Vietnam and foreign tourists. Therefore, travelers planning a trip to Hanoi in September and October should take the temporary closure of the site into account when planning their itinerary.

The closure applies specifically to visits inside the mausoleum. During the work period, tourists will still be able to explore the area around the complex and photograph the building from the outside. Nearby are also Ba Dinh Square, Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house, and the One Pillar Pagoda, which can be included in an itinerary around central Hanoi.

After reopening, the mausoleum will continue operating on its usual schedule: it can be visited on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings. Visits are not held on Mondays and Fridays.

For tourists, this means that if a trip to Hanoi is planned for the period from September 4 to November 2, it will not be possible to enter the mausoleum. At the same time, the Ba Dinh Square area itself remains accessible for walks and for viewing nearby attractions.
