Five fixed speed cameras have started operating in Lam Dong Province
From September 27, five stationary speed control devices have officially been put into operation in Lam Dong Province. The new system has been installed on National Highway 28B and Provincial Road DT724 and is intended for the automatic recording of speeding violations.
Four cameras were placed on Highway 28B, which connects districts in the Phan Thiet — Da Lat direction. Two devices monitor traffic heading toward Da Lat, and two more monitor traffic in the opposite direction, toward Phan Thiet. The fifth camera was installed on DT724 and monitors vehicles traveling from National Highway 20 toward Lam Ha.
The equipment operates automatically and uses laser technology to measure vehicle speed. The cameras simultaneously record the speed and image of the vehicle, after which the information is transmitted to the data processing center. This allows the police to use the collected materials to identify and process traffic violations.
The system is designed for round-the-clock operation. During nighttime, infrared illumination is used, allowing the cameras to recognize vehicles and record the necessary data even in low-light conditions.
The installation of stationary cameras is part of measures to strengthen traffic safety control on the province’s roads. Particular attention is paid to compliance with established speed limits and safe following distances between vehicles.
For drivers, this means constant automatic monitoring on the equipped sections regardless of the presence of traffic police. Before traveling between Phan Thiet and Da Lat on Highway 28B, it is especially important to carefully observe the current speed limits: they may differ on different sections of the road.
