Vietnam's Independence Day: festive program across the country

From August 29 to September 2, 2026, Vietnam will have a five-day holiday break, and major cities have prepared concerts, festivals, fireworks, and special tourism programs.

In Hanoi, the main event on September 2 will be a праздничный fireworks display, scheduled from 21:00 to 21:15. The capital has also prepared a large-scale cultural program and will increase public transport services during the holiday. At the same time, the exact list of fireworks venues for 2026 should be distinguished from the 2025 program: last year’s five locations are often mistakenly published as current. (baoquocte.vn)

In Ho Chi Minh City, a праздничный fireworks display will also take place on September 2 at seven locations simultaneously. In addition, the city will hold concerts and other events dedicated to National Day. (hdnd.hochiminhcity.gov.vn)

In Hoi An, Creative Week Hoi An 2026 will take place from August 28 to September 2, featuring events dedicated to heritage, crafts, art, and modern technology. In Hue, the free Huế Wonderverse Music Fest 2026 will be held from August 30 to September 1. The program will combine music, modern technology, art, and cultural heritage; two major concert evenings are planned. (visithue.vn)

In Nha Trang, the holiday program also includes concert events: on August 30, a performance will take place in Tuệ Tĩnh Park, and on September 1 — at April 2 Square. Tourism companies in Khanh Hoa are simultaneously preparing for an increased flow of visitors and strengthening safety requirements at beaches, swimming pools, and entertainment venues. Because of the five-day holiday, an increase in tourist traffic is expected across the country. Airlines, railway carriers, hotels, and tourism companies are expanding their service capacity in advance, so those planning a trip for these dates are advised to book transport and accommodation early.
