Danang Smart City launched real-time flight tracking
Da Nang has launched a new Flight Information feature in the Danang Smart City app. The service allows passengers to track flight information in real time without being physically present at the airport.
The feature was introduced through cooperation between the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology and Da Nang International Airport. The data comes from the Airport Operational Database (AODB), the airport’s operational database.
Users can check the scheduled and updated departure or arrival time, terminal, check-in counter, boarding gate, and current flight status. If flight data changes, the app provides up-to-date information, allowing passengers to adjust their plans in advance.
To use the service, users need to open the Danang Smart City app and find the “Flight Information” section through the search bar or select it directly on the home screen. After that, they can enter a flight number and receive detailed information about it.
It is also possible to view flights as a general list. The user can select a specific flight and open its details or mark it with a star icon to follow the desired trip.
The new feature may be useful not only for passengers but also for those meeting or seeing off travelers at the airport. Up-to-date information about flight times and boarding gates makes it possible to plan a trip to the airport in advance rather than relying solely on the terminal information boards.
Danang Smart City is a multifunctional city app. According to Tuoi Tre, in 2025 it was downloaded 1.8 million times and provided more than 90 different services. These include flood and rain alerts, bus information, digital administrative services, medical and educational services, tourist information, and payment for some utility services.
The launch of Flight Information expands the app’s capabilities for tourists and Da Nang residents by adding data directly from the international airport’s infrastructure.
