In central Da Lat, the movement of large buses has been restricted
From August 1, buses with a capacity of more than 29 seats are not allowed to enter the central market area and several streets in downtown Da Lat. The new rules have already helped reduce congestion in one of the city’s busiest tourist areas.
Da Lat has introduced new restrictions for large passenger transport. From August 1, 2026, buses with a capacity of more than 29 seats are not allowed to enter the central market area and several adjacent streets.
The decision is linked to постоянными traffic jams in the city center, especially around Da Lat Market, which is visited by a large number of tourists every day. Large tourist buses take up significant space on the narrow central streets, causing traffic to slow down frequently.
After the restrictions were introduced, the authorities have already noted a positive effect. According to local services, just a few days after the traffic scheme was changed, there were noticeably fewer traffic jams in the central part of the city, and getting around the area became more comfortable.
The restrictions primarily affect tourist buses, so organized groups now need to take the new rules into account in advance when planning trips around Da Lat. Drivers are advised to use permitted routes and pay close attention to road signs when approaching the central market.
At the same time, the restrictions do not apply to all public transport: they concern specifically buses whose capacity exceeds the established limit of 29 passengers.
Da Lat remains one of Vietnam’s most popular tourist destinations, so the city authorities are gradually revising traffic organization in the central districts, aiming both to reduce the burden on the roads and to preserve access to the main attractions for tourists.
