A festival dedicated to Mi Quang noodles will take place in Da Nang

On August 14–15, the city will host the festival “Mì Quảng — the Quintessence of Quang Nam Cuisine — 2026,” introducing visitors to one of the main culinary symbols of Central Vietnam.

Da Nang is preparing to hold a two-day festival dedicated to mì Quảng (Mỳ Quảng), a traditional dish of Quang Nam regional cuisine. The event will take place on August 14 and 15 at the Nại Nam communal house on the grounds of the Tiên Sơn Sports Complex, in the Hòa Cường area.

The organizers aim not only to introduce guests to this popular dish, but also to show its connection with the history and everyday life of the people of Central Vietnam. The festival is seen as a way to preserve the region’s culinary heritage while also developing Da Nang’s gastronomic tourism.

The program includes tasting and interactive areas, demonstrations of mì Quảng preparation by professional chefs and artisans, as well as cultural and artistic performances. A separate exhibition area will be devoted to local products, regional delicacies, and OCOP program goods.

The festival will also present the best mì Quảng brands of Da Nang in 2026. Activities to promote local brands and business meetings are planned for producers, restaurants, and representatives of the tourism industry.

Before the festival begins, on August 11, a special seminar will be held on the role of mì Quảng in the development of tourism and the local economy. Experts, chefs, restaurants, hotels, and producers of the dish will take part in it.

Thus, the festival will become not just a gastronomic event, but also a platform for promoting the region’s culinary heritage and positioning Da Nang as a gastronomic tourism destination.
